The Choice of PhytoRevolution

01. WHY

Unlocking the Potential of Plant Cells

Our journey began with the bioactive potential of Cephalotaxus harringtonii, a coniferous shrub native to Korea. Plants in the genus Cephalotaxus produce a range of cephalotaxine-related alkaloids, including homoharringtonine (HHT), known for its pharmaceutical applications.

Yet translating this potential into a reliable source of ingredients presents challenges. The composition of wild-grown plants varies with environmental conditions and seasonal changes, while repeated harvesting raises concerns about supply stability and sustainability.

Through PCAI® technology, PhytoRevolution establishes stable callus cultures from carefully selected Cephalotaxus mother plants. This approach supports consistent quality, reproducible production, and sustainable sourcing—transforming the potential of plant cells into valuable bioactive materials.

02. BIOACTIVE POTENTIAL

Bioactivity Confirmed in Cephalotaxus Cells

Through compositional analysis of Cephalotaxus callus and cell-based studies, we have identified a range of metabolites and explored their bioactive potential.
